Although it is difficult to plan ahead this year, we are scheduling events and activities in the hopes that we will be able to meet together throughout the Autumn. Do come and join us - even if you are visiting Vilnius or just here for a short term - you are always welcome!
September: Every Wednesday evening - Bible Study at 6.30 p.m. (contact the church for location and study passage) Sunday 27th September - Welcome Brunch Following our Sunday service we will gather for a light brunch to reconnect after the summer holidays and get to know new faces within the ICV community and Vilnius. October: Every Wednesday evening - Bible Study at 6.30 p.m. (contact the church for location and study passage) November: Every Wednesday evening - Bible Study at 6.30 p.m. (contact the church for online log-in information and study passage) Sunday 1st November: Guided walk through a local cemetery to view the candles set out for All Saints' Day and learn about the importance of the holiday in Lithuania. (UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have had to cancel this event.) Sunday 8th November - Service of Remembrance at 9.30 a.m. This is an annual event at which we host representatives of the other faith communities and diplomats in Vilnius as we join together in remembering those who have died fighting to secure the freedom we enjoy today. Refreshments after the service will be provided by the British and Canadian Embassies. (UPDATE: This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited and there will be no reception following the service. Please contact ICV directly for more details.) Saturday 21st November - North American Thanksgiving Celebration (UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have had to cancel this event.) Looking ahead: Advent starts in December. Our fellowship group will continue on Wednesday evenings. In addition: Wednesday 23rd December - Carols by Candlelight at 4.00 p.m. Join us (online this year) as as we celebrate the Christmas story with readings and carols, led by members of the ICV community - all are welcome! Friday 25th December - Christmas Day Worship at 3.00 p.m. As the nights draw in and temperatures drop, it is tempting to shut oneself up at home and keep warm - don't! There are plenty of events and activities between now and Advent. Saturday 23rd November - Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Thanksgiving Dinner this year but we do hope to see you all at the Carol service on the 8th December after which we shall enjoy mulled wine, juice, and a variety of festive fare.
