After nice and hot summer here comes chilly September and we all move closer to onset of Winter. We are very happy to welcome Pastor Mark from USA to join us in October for whole year to come. After a lull in church activities over the summer our fellowship group has resumed. We meet every Tuesday evenings from 6:30p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for a light supper and bible study - all are welcome to participate. More details and updates are announced on our WhatsApp group. Sunday 9th January - Pastor Jim Wagner's last Sunday with us Mid-week Bible study and fellowship will resume in February. After worshipping remotely most of the spring and early summer and then tentatively resuming corporative worship in the fellowship hall, we rejoice to be able to worship together in the church sanctuary every week. We are also excited to be joined by Pastor Jim and Diane Wagner (with us from 2013-2017) who return to lead us until January. Refreshments after the service will be provided by the British and Canadian Embassies. (UPDATE: This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited and there will be no reception following the service. Please contact ICV directly for more details.) Saturday 21st November - North American Thanksgiving Celebration (UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have had to cancel this event.) Looking ahead: Advent starts in December. Our fellowship group will continue on Wednesday evenings. There are plenty of events and activities between now and Advent. Sunday 11th November - Service of Remembrance at 9.30 a.m. This is an annual event at which we host representatives of the other faith communities and diplomats in Vilnius as we join together in remembering those who have died fighting to secure the freedom we enjoy today. Refreshments after the service will be provided by the British and Candian Embassies. Friday 15th November - Students and young professionals social @ Kris and Star's flat (J. Kairiūkščio g. 7-68) Meet at 6.30 p.m. All are welcome! Another social is planned for 14th December. Saturday 23rd November - Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Thanksgiving Dinner this year but we do hope to see you all at the Carol service on the 8th December after which we shall enjoy mulled wine, juice, and a variety of festive fare. As usual, we have a number of members leaving our fellowship in the coming months and others away on holiday. We also expect many visitors. For those of us who will be in Vilnius over the summer, visitors included, we have a number of activities: Every Wednesday: From 6-8 p.m. Meet for fellowship at the cafe immediately opposite the church entrance (the open air seating in the middle of Vokiečių gavtė). A chance for a drink, snack, meal, and lively discussion! Saturday 15th June: Church family picnic at the Žirmunų beach from 1030 - 1400. See here for details While we await the arrival of Mathew Steinfeld as our new pastor in July, we will be supported in our worship by Bishop Mindaugas who will preside at communion once a month (usually on the third Sunday of the month) and Pastor Tom Bower who will be with us for the four Sundays of April.
